Gite Croix de la Douelle is a beautiful, renovated traditional farmhouse for a of max 6 people, surrounded by meadows and forests all around. The independant house is located at walking distance, just outside the village of Molières and at 4 km from the village Cadouin with its XIIth century monastery and abbey, near the Dordogne and Vézère rivers. Privacy, ideal for quietness and peace seekers!
Description
The cottage is for the major part situated on the ground floor. There is also a mezzanine with 2 beds.
Attractive design. Spacious living room with dining area, large fireplace, doors to two covered terraces, satellite TV, DVD player and internet. Kitchen with door to covered terrace and equipped with all comforts such as dishwasher, microwave. Utility room with washing machine and water treatment system.
2 Bedrooms each with a private bathroom (shower) and toilet. Two bedrooms with a double bed (180x200) and a mezzanine with two single beds (80x200). The beds are made upon arrival. Cot and highchair are available. Please bring your own bed linen for the cot.
All rooms are equipped with central heating (gas) and floor heating in the living room.

Plot of approx 1.5 hectares with pasture and forest. 2 Large terraces with garden furniture and BBQ. Excellent coverage for cell phones.
Cadouin (4 km) boasts a magnificent 12th century abbey which is home to the Holy Shroud of Cadouin (now known to be a fake), bicycle museum, hotel, restaurants, many local artisans, tourist information centre, boulangerie, and a thriving weekly market; a Marché Nocturne on Monday evenings during July, August and early September where visitors mix with locals and buy freshly cooked regional food (nearby Le Buisson de Cadouin holds it evening market on Friday evenings in July and August). In Lalinde (8 km), a cozy town, you can find all kinds of shops: a grocery, a good supermarket, bakeries etc. and on Thursday an extensive and lively market. The cottage is located 24 km from Bergerac. This town at the river Dordogne offers a wine and a tobacco museum, the famous statue of Cyrano de Bergerac and of course the lovely old town with cafes and restaurants. Beautiful medieval Sarlat with its medieval and Renaissance architecture is 50 minutes drive away. Visit the market and be tempted by the gastronomic delights of the region or just sit at a café and watch the world go by. Perigueux (60 minutes drive), the capital of the Dordogne, with its medieval quarter and the Cathédrale St Front. Le Bugue is 20 kms away with its many shops, craft markets and restaurants.
There are village markets most days of the week selling local fruit, vegetables, cheese and wine. Monpazier market is a must as is the Sunday market at St Cyprien. Monpazier (built by the English) is considered to be the best bastide, why not join one of its guided tours of the bastide. Siorac (18 kms) has a large supermarket . There are lots of restaurants in the area, nearly all serving traditional Perigordian dishes for which the region is renowned i.e. truffles, foie gras and confits.
