Gite La Quintou is beautifully situated in the countryside, where time has stood still and the hectic world is far away. Gite La Quintou is a comfortable, completely renovated gite in the Dordogne/Lot and has traditionally been an en pierre barn. The silence can still be heard here, the healthy air can be felt, the forests and fields with all colors of green, brown or yellow. It is beautiful in every season. There are 3 terraces on 3 sides of the single storey gite.
The luxurious gite has a kitchen with oven, microwave, large fridge, dishwasher, electric hob, kettle, coffee maker, TV and WiFi. In addition, there are comfortable high-quality beds of 180x200cm. If desired, we can also make 2 single beds of 90x200cm. There is a bathroom with a walk-in shower, sink and hair dryer and a separate toilet.
The friendly but discreet owners also live on the domaine. Because peace, quiet and nature are also very important to them, the light and modern gite is especially intended for two people. On three sides of the detached gite you will find a terrace from which there is a wonderful view of green hills and forests. With a little patience and luck you will spot deer, wild boars, foxes and badgers. You will regularly see buzzards, kites and falcons passing by.
Outside
Right next to the gite you will find a private parking space so that loading and unloading your luggage and shopping is very easy. Through the spacious French doors you can easily step onto the south terrace. Coffee in the morning on the terrace on the east side, then in the afternoon on the south terrace under the grapevines, and finally in the evening you can enjoy the sunset in the west until late in the evening. Under the roof, the heat remains for a long time, so that sitting outside for a long time is also possible in the early and late season.
Important to know
When you arrive at the gite, the beds are made, linen is provided and a welcome pack is ready. When you arrive on a Saturday afternoon, shopping is no problem. On Sunday mornings in nearby Cazals there is a lovely market where local producers sell their cheese, fruit, bread, wine and much more, but the bakery, butcher and supermarket are also open. The costs of the mandatory final cleaning are €60. If you come with an electric car, we will calculate the costs of charging in consultation. We assume that you will leave the gite as tidy as you found it. The prices include linen, super-fast fiber optic internet and energy costs.
The house is 6 km from the nice town of Cazals where you will find everything: shops, restaurant, bank, post office, tennis court. On Sundays there is a lively market in Cazals where fresh products are sold. In the immediate vicinity you will find several medieval towns such as Gourdon (23 km), Cahors (30 km), Sarlat (35 km), Domme (29 km) and Souillac (30 km). The Dordogne river is about 30 km from the villa. Along this river you can visit the beautiful castles of Milandes (once the residence of Josephine Baker) Castelnau (literally means new castle) and Beynac. In the summer you can indulge yourself in the many flea markets and the many music festivals.
