We have just left teh villa after a wonderful long stay. The property is
very big and there is plenty of space throughout. There are four large
bedrooms, one bathroom and two separate toilets (one being downstairs). The
kitchen, dining room and living room are all open plan. There is a lovely
seating area with a BBQ which looks over the pool area. The pool area is
fantastic. It?s big, has 8 sun chairs, 6 of which are the most
comfortable sun loungers with pillows. The pool is huge and is very warm.
You can spend hours in there. We went in everyday. Swimming on an evening
watching the sun go down over the valley was our favourite time of day. We
had 30+ weather everyday which was a real treat.? The decor is rustic,
tasteful and very cosy. Bedding and towels are supplied. When you leave are
you simply strip the beds and place all bedding and towels in the bathroom
for the maid to collect.? The property is perched on the hillside and has
sweeping views across the valley. There are plenty of animals wandering
about such as deer, donkeys, a peacock and lizards.? The property is easy
to find from Coly Village. The approach is easier if you go into Coly, and
take the turning next to the petrol station and follow the road straight
up, turning right onto the track to the villa.? The utensils and cooking
equipment were perfect for cooking meals everyday. The oven and induction
hob cooked food to perfection!? Having a car is essential to get about as
the nearest supermarket is in Terrasson roughly 15 minutes drive away.
Terrasson has everything you need with many bars, restaurants, supermarkets
etc.? Nearby to the house are two restaurants. They are within about 15 to
20 minutes walking distance down the hill.? We were able to visit many
beautiful towns as the property is positioned in such a nice area of the
Perigord Noir. We recommend Sarlat, Terrasson, Saint Amand de Coly,
Castelnaud, Montignac, Bergerac, Hautefort to name but a few.? If you have
any issues Marie and Jean, the property owners, are on hand as they live in
a house just across from the property. Delmina is also the other property
just above which too can be rented for a holiday. Marie and Jean are very
helpful and pleasant.? We would stay here again and had a wonderful time.

We have just left after a week staying at Villa La Vallee. This was a very
relaxing place to stay and like the photos suggest there is a beautiful
pool with a beautiful pool. The location is perfect for exploring the
nearby pretty villages of St Amand de Coly, Montignac, Sarlat, Domme,
Collonges le Rouge etc. The owners property is 50 yards away and another
property equidistant at the bottom of the garden. That said you never felt
intruded upon by the owner far from it. Equally when we have stayed at
other gites in France, the very basics have been left for you I.e. Salt,
washing up liquid etc and usually there is a welcome loaf of bread, pint of
milk and a bottle of wine. No such luck here. Minor but important details
that made this only a very very good stay rather than an exceptional one.

Wat een prachtig huis en geweldige omgeving!! Ik kan niet genoeg zeggen
over dit prachtige pand. Het huis is fantastisch, de omgeving is geweldig,
Op het terrein zijn een aantal dieren (paard, ezel, hond, 2 katten en een
pauw!! Super leuk voor kleine kinderen. Wij waren met mijn man en ik, onze
dochter en schoonzoon, twee kleinkinderen (6 en 8) en onze 98 jaar oude
vriend. Alles is zo mooi en ontspannend. Het zwembad en het uitzicht zijn
echt geweldig. Ook de wifi is sterk genoeg voor een groot gezelschap. Ik
zou hier zeker weer verblijven. Het is niet erg makkelijk te vinden, maar
zeker de moeite waard voor een welverdiende vakantie. Renee T. juni 2016

Wonderful off season rental We stayed at the villa for two months whilst
looking for a property to buy in the Dordogne. The setting is wonderful -
peaceful, beautiful and totally unspoilt. Jean and Marie are perfect hosts,
nothing is too much trouble - the log burner roaring on our arrival was
particularly welcome after a long, cold journey. We had a great time and
got to know the local area well and there is much to love in and around
Coly. Similar to the last review we'd love to keep this place a secret but
Jean and Marie deserve to be busy - and rightly so are. Peter B February
